AWARDS AND HONOURS

STAFF AND STUDENT RECOGNITION: PRIZES, AWARDS AND OTHER PRESTIGE MEASURES

Throughout 2020 Centre researchers and students were recognised for their outstanding excellence in research, outreach and scientific contributions. A total of 24 prizes, awards and other prestige measures, were awarded to 24 ACEMS members, exceeding ACEMS' 2020 target of 20.

In recognition of their outstanding achievements and contributions to the Centre, several ACEMS Members were presented with awards at the 2020 ACEMS Virtual Annual Retreat held in November: 

  • Four individual Outstanding Achievements Recognition Awards were awarded to Xuhui Fan, Mel Humphries, Bonsoo Koo and David Warne.
  • The individual Impact and Engagement Award was awarded to Paul Wu.
  • The Impact and Engagement Award (Group) was awarded to Rob Hyndman, James McGree, Kate Smith-Miles, Kerrie Mengersen, Catherine Leigh, Sevvandi Kandanaarachchi, Priyanga Dilini Talagala, Erin Peterson, Edgar Santos-Fernandez, Puwasala Gamakumara, Benoit Liquetand other members of the Water Quality Anomaly Detection Team.
  • Two Outreach Participation Awards were awarded to Sarah Belet and Jack Ford Morgan.
