Ever wondered what an ARC Centre of Excellence is all about? Why are these Centres so important? What kind of research are they doing?
To help answer some of these questions, the communications and media officers from ten different ARC Centres of Excellence created a video series. They called it “Q & ARC”. The Australian Research Council featured the videos on its YouTube page.
The series introduced viewers to researchers at various stages of their careers from universities and institutions across Australia. They’re working to answer questions in fields ranging from biodiversity and climate extremes to mathematics, renewable energy and quantum computing. The researchers talked about what motivates them and how they work together to make a big impact on the global stage.
In Episode four of the series, ACEMS featured Kerrie Mengersen (QUT), Sarat Babu Moka (UQ), and Caitlin Gray (Adelaide) in its video. ACEMS Media and Communications Officer Tim Macuga produced and edited the video.
In this video, we introduce you to some of the ACEMS researchers who explain their research and why a Centre in maths and stats is needed. Plus, it’s a chance to meet them as people and not just researchers!
In all, the following ARC Centres of Excellence took part in the series:
All the videos are also on the ACEMS YouTube page.
